"I was absolutely pining for real  country so set off on a walking tour ticket...arrived at Amersham.....went down to High Wycombe:  from there to Penn village and church and then walked on to Beaconsfield....waiting for the train back to Marylebone".  corner crease.

A sepia view of the lane passing through the central arch of the stone  gateway with another smaller pedestian arched opening on the left. The main arch has scrolls set intto the brickwork above it and ornate ovehanging parapet on the top. On the left there is a small six sided tower inset into the buildings. More old buildings are on the right.
